Year-In-Review Year 5
My final year at UC... it seems that time is moving so quickly and I should be restarting my freshman year all over again. That's not happening!
I used this fifth year as a reflection point in my life. I knew that when I was finished with my final semester, big changes would be happening in terms of finishing school, finding a job, sitting for my CPA exams, and moving out of Clifton. While this is a progression that most people go through, everyone handles the change differently.
During my reflection point year, I knew I was motivated to find the things I was genuinely passionate about and continue those. While I narrowed down my involvement on campus a bit, I knew there were still organizations that I had hoped to influence and change. It was exciting for me to work with teams and projects with various clubs on campus to leave a lasting impact. I felt as though I had served my time with the Kolodzik Business Scholars program. After my presidency, I knew that the organization needed fresh eyes and younger students to create their own new initiatives. I also knew that my time had been served with the Student Alumni Council. As a past Homecoming Parade Chair, I flourished with the opportunity to be a part of a very special celebration. I knew that the Bicentennial student leaders of SAC would take this next year to new heights.
I recognized my growing need to continue traveling and continue blogging on ATravelingNutMare.com, my food allergy awareness blog. I knew my passion to continue being involved in the allergy world was at the forefront of my mind for the year. i wanted to keep mixing the thought of being a global citizen with food allergies. I accepted a study abroad experience to Paris, France with the Lindner College of Business in order to keep fulfilling my mission. I traveled to France over spring break in 2019 to continue pushing down these barriers of being a food allergy traveler. On this trip, I proved to myself that I can handle all things that are thrown at me, I can ensure my own personal safety, and I can still have a lot of fun while doing it.
As graduation quickly approaches, I am so looking forward to the celebrations with my family and friends! I am thrilled to be the recipient of the Lindner Oustanding Accounting Student and Lindner Outstanding Undergraduate Student. I am also the recipient of the Presidential Leadership Medal of Excellence that is the highest University Undergraduate honor. I am so honored and so humbled. I know that receiving these honors took a village - I am so grateful to my family for their support, encouragement, and never-ending love.
